Kellen is the original creator of The Purple Woods. When Kellen was younger he would tell bedtime stories in a style that gave the listener an almost first person account of his adventures. He would improve and refine the stories each night. Over time, the characters and places became very detailed. Eventually, we had to draw a map and write down the stories to keep his growing narrative organized.
Although The Purple Woods is fictional, Kellen based many of the characters on his own stuffies. The locations in the stories also mirror many of the campsites that he has visited. Kellen often brainstorms while placing his characters in real world situations, resulting in some interesting humor.
When Kellen is not dreaming up new adventures he loves to play video games and soccer.
